Sealing up your house is the only real way to keep
them out. They are always trying to get in and, always trying to get
out. Keeping doors and windows closed, sealing the cracks in
your siding, windows, doors, utility pipes, chimneys, or other openings is
the best way to deal with this PEST. A good quality silicone or
silicone-latex caulk will help stop their entry. Replace ripped window
and door screens and install screens on attic vents. Take a good long look
at any possible entry to make sure they are
properly sealed.
Stink
bugs creep out from their hiding places mostly when it gets warm. They want to get
out, and seem to forget the way they got in and head straight for your
window. At night, they are attracted to light. They are slow and fast
movers. Slow to react when you try to catch them, but can be quick as
a dart when they fly.
Stink bugs are resistant to many
types of pesticides and can be difficult to control. Be cautious when handling stink bugs.
They don't harm you but, when they emit their "stink", you'll need a good
wash to get rid of it. People get less and less tolerant for
their odor. The odor of
a stink bug will linger on anything it comes in contact with. It's best
to use a favorite scented soap and water when needed.
