My Personal Opinion on Music
What would we do without music? If you really think about it, this world would be so completely different if there was no such thing as music. People make careers out of it, people make millions of dollars from it, and peoples' lives are changed by it. Obviously, music is an awesome thing. Have you ever listened to one of your favorite band's CDs and just get the chills because that's how good the music is to you? That's exactly what happens to me when I listen to certain songs that I love.
For me, music is like a best friend. It's always there. Even if I'm not in a good mood, I can just get in my car and put in one of my favorite CDs and it'll put me in a better mood. In fact, that's my favorite part of driving: listing to my music. When I buy a new CD, I always listen to the entire thing all the way through while reading the lyrics, because not only does great music sound amazing, it also has meaning or a message in the lyrics. When you know the words and meaning that's when you have the full effect of it. Music is definitely my main hobby. I was never into sports but music interests me so much. Then you got the concerts for your favorite bands, which, in my opinion, are the best events to go to. Just knowing that the people who wrote and play those songs that you're so in love with are in the same building as you is an awesome feeling.
Personally, I think the music industry is getting worse and worse as time goes on. I stopped listening to the radio because so many new artists have songs that just aren't good. We have punk bands that whine like little girls with such high-pitched voices and have such unoriginal guitar riffs and lyrics. They wear black eye make up and try to look tough with spiked or colored hair in their videos. They make me so angry. Then there are the rap and R&B artists nowadays that have lyrics talking about a girl's butt or how rich they are or how they have gold teeth!! You can tell how mad this gets me. Just the fact that these people are making so much money for their music, which is so pointless. Then their videos are just a bunch of people dancing around, throwing money, popping champagne bottles. That's all there is to it. At least my favorite bands are still making music because I don't know what I would do without them.
